Abstract

In the first quarter of the twentieth century, the most powerful socio-political upheavals took place in the Turkestan region. During the revolutionary processes in the multiethnic region, such figures as representatives of the Kazakh ethnoelite T. Ryskulov, N. Turekulov, S. Kozhanov served in the highest echelons of Soviet power, and together with Uzbek national figures implemented political reforms in the Turkestan Autonomous Soviet republic. In their socio-political activities, along with the goal-interest of Soviet ideology, was to achieve self-government (translated as self-government) of local peoples. To this end, their attempt to integrate the interests of the nation with Soviet reforms was assessed by the party authorities as nationalism, pan-Turkishness. These political headings later became the basis for their condemnation and political persecution during the" Great Terror".
